We are a small, elite team responsible for shaping the brand strategy for AirAsia’s future ventures, new business units, and transformative projects. We don’t just manage brands; we build them from the ground up, turning bold ideas into iconic, market-leading entities. We are the strategic architects mapping the future of the entire AirAsia ecosystem.


The Role

As a Brand Manager for AirAsia Next, you are a rare hybrid: a highly capable strategic thinker and a relentless doer. You will act as the "brand builder" for the brands and portfolios we own. You are responsible for the intellectual "brain work"—the deep research, strategic positioning and brand foundations—while possessing the agile project management grit to bring these blueprints to life.


You will be part of the team that is responsible for understanding and managing complex brands as well as developing solutions for business problems. You will connect the dots between global trends, cultural nuances and business opportunities, creating brands that are not only profitable but also purposeful and deeply resonant.


What You’ll Do 

Strategic Brand Development: Conduct deep-dive brand and market analysis, identify opportunities and co-author foundational brand strategies (positioning, value proposition, brand architecture) for brands and portfolios we own.


Portfolio Management: Act as Brand Partner for a diverse portfolio of businesses. You will champion brand-led thinking and provide high-level counsel to ensure all initiatives resonate with the Group’s overarching trajectory. As a Brand Guardian, you will help ensure the application of our frameworks, safeguarding brand equity while helping teams to push boundaries and forge deep audience connections.


System & Framework Design: Apply advanced systems thinking to ensure our brand strategies are scalable, resilient and seamlessly integrated into the wider AirAsia ecosystem. You help build the frameworks that govern how our new brands operate.


Insight & Intelligence Synthesis: Go beyond surface-level data to uncover profound insights. Stay hyper-aware of global movements, technological shifts and cultural nuances—translating them into strategic opportunities.


Project Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative, product, marketing, legal) to execute ecosystem brand initiatives. You help steer and ensure flawless execution and on-time delivery.


Brand Guardianship & Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that articulate the brand’s purpose to internal stakeholders and external partners, serving as the guardian of the brand’s integrity.

What You Studied: Your degree is likely in Business Management, Economics, Marketing, Brand Management,Data Analytics, or a related field that taught you how to analyze both structural systems and human behavior.


Where You’ve Worked: You thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environments where innovation and transformation is paramount. You come from:


  • Tech: High-growth startups or venture-backed scale-ups. Prior experience in a brand or product ecosystem.
  • Management Consulting: Strategy firms or boutique innovation consultancies.
  • Top-Tier Brand/Creative Agencies: Involved in strategic, brand, or market analysis role.

Roles You’ve Held: Brand Strategist, Strategic Planner, Growth Marketer, Product Marketing Manager or Internal Strategy Manager. You are comfortable with ambiguity and have built things from scratch.


What You Know: You do not need to be an airline expert. In fact, fresh eyes are an asset. You have experience with how modern businesses work, how platforms grow, how networks create value, and how to successfully launch new digital brands.


Skills and Competencies You should have :

  • Ability to build brand positioning, value propositions, and foundational frameworks from scratch.
  • Highly capable of synthesizing complex data and cultural trends into actionable business strategies.
  • Skill to design scalable brand systems that connect across a diverse digital portfolio.
  • A hybrid mindset—both a high-level strategic thinker and a relentless, hands-on doer.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments; fiercely independent and proactive.
  • Strong agile project management skills to align creative, product, and marketing teams toward flawless delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills to rally stakeholders, articulate brand purpose, and act as a strong brand guardian.
