About the location:

AMAALA is situated along Saudi Arabia’s northwest coast and is home to some of the most diverse natural environments. Marking a new chapter for comprehensive wellness tourism, Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay will feature 220 keys comprising of rooms and suites, as well as villas with their own private pools, and 26 branded residential villas, all thoughtfully designed to offer breathtaking bay and sea views. The resort will include a luxury spa nestled within its garden of tranquility and inspiration featuring a sculptured waterfall. The Organic Spa Garden will be a focal point and treatment experience set to stimulate the senses, offering extensive therapeutic remedies including halotherapy, cryotherapy, and advanced skin therapies. For fitness enthusiasts, the property will offer a bespoke collaboration with fitness trainer Harley Pasternak to seamlessly merge high-performance training with the limitless potential of Triple Bay’s 300 hectares (741 acres) of untouched hills, wadis, and beaches. The pristine terrain includes trails perfect for canyoning and exploring the rugged cliffs and valleys. Guests and residents can also take part in an array of guided hikes, mountain biking, and equestrian bridle trails, or work on their game at the spectacular 27-hole oceanfront golf course.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead our engineering organization through its next phase of growth. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for leading engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable products that support the company's strategic objectives.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Design, and other cross-functional leaders to align engineering initiatives with business priorities, improve development processes, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, operational excellence, and people leadership to ensure engineering resources, systems, and teams are positioned for long-term success.

What You Will Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers and engineering teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with the company's goals and operational priorities.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Design, and other business leaders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, development standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive architectural decisions, technology investments, and engineering processes that improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Build, recruit, and retain high-performing engineering talent while supporting career development and succession planning.
• Monitor engineering performance through key metrics, resource planning, budgeting, and capacity management.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and operational excellence of engineering systems and infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and optimize engineering operations.
• Communicate engineering priorities, progress, and risks effectively to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to support innovation and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams and developing engineering managers.
• Strong technical background in software architecture, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and modern development practices.
• Demonstrated ability to align engineering execution with business and operational objectives.
• Experience managing engineering budgets, staffing, resource planning, and organizational growth.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, software quality, and operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring teams and building an inclusive, high-performing engineering organization.
