Description
Responsibilities:
- Assigns day-to-day duties and supervises the performance ofassignedteam members.
- Assistswith the preparation of assignments, staffingschedulesand activity reports for the section.
- Assembles weather related forecasts anddisseminatesinformation toassistinestablishingproper wither operations response.
- Coordinates operations in the movement area, including but not limited to snow removal, crash and rescue,constructionand maintenance activities, as well as monitoringaircraftmovement.
- Assistswith the development of the Snow and Ice Control plan.
- Assigns and conducts wildlife patrols, wildlife hazing and reductionproceduresas necessary. Activities may require the use of pyrotechnic weapons and/or shotguns, the removal of dead animals from the airfield and the submission of FAA Wildlife Strike reports.
- Assigns and conducts patrols and airfield/facility inspections for unsafe, non-compliant, or general maintenance issues and reports discrepancies. Areas of inspection include but are not limited to field and landing conditions, hangars, ramps, terminal areas, roadwaysystemsand other airport owned properties.
- Monitors security, fire, weather radar, as well as equipment and surface condition monitoring systems for alarms, notifies responsible parties, and reports onconditionsas necessary.
- Writes and reviews various daily shift reports.
- Monitors two-way radio communications, flight operation statuses, work order requests, security access control, CCTV systems, etc.
- Coordinates various operations with the Airlines, FAA Air Traffic Control Tower, othersectionsand government entities asrequired.
- Provideshigh levelof customer service in responding to questions and inquiries from the public, airport stakeholders, and/or governmental regulatory agencies.
- Assumes initial control of emergency response activities.
- Verifies completion of all shift reports including but not limited to shift logs, inspection reports, incidentreportsand all other required documentation.
- Supervises the performance of the assignedstaff:develops and monitors employee goals, counsels and coaches, instructs and evaluates employees,initiatesand enforces disciplinary actions, and informsSuperintendentof performance or operational issues as they arise.
- Must be willing to work any shift to cover operational needs including nights, weekends and holidays and is toparticipatein emergency preparedness events and activities.
- Promotes and ensures compliance with occupational health and safetymanagementpolicies, procedures, and programs to minimize employee accidents and to promote a safe work environment. Prepares accident and injuryreportsas necessary.
- Performs other related duties asrequired.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma from an accredited high school program or GED isrequired.
- Bachelor’s degree inAirport or Aviation/Aerospace Management, Aviation/Aerospace Science, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited four-year college or university.(Substitution: One year of experience in an Airport Operations office or other airport operations related experience may be substituted for each year of college education lacking)
- Fouryears offull timepaid experience as an airport operations agentisrequired.
- Must successfully complete all applicable regulatory airfield Ground Vehicle Operator and Winter Operations training/assessments, within probationary period, andmaintaincorresponding airfield driving privileges throughout employment.
- NIMS and ICS certifications forFront Line Supervisiontier and any assigned working groups must be completed within six months of employment and completeadditionalor refresher trainings asrequired.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters non-discrimination.
- A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is required.
- Must haveandmaintainanacceptable driving record.
- Excellent, proved interpersonal,verbaland written communication skills and ability to interact and represent theorganizationwith airport tenants, state and federal authorities, otherorganizationsand the publicon a professional level.
- Must beable to type and becomputer proficient inthe Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to stand,walkand/or sit for extended periods on a frequent basis.
- Must have the constant ability to talk and hear.
- Mustpossessboth near and far visual acuity.
- Must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA)10 yearfingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check and employment background check and Security Threat Assessment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one(1)year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Operational experience at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport or Burke Lakefront Airport is preferred.
- Prior experience with a Fixed Base Operator (FBO), airline, air cargo carrier, airfield maintenance, and/or airport emergency services, and possession of a Private Pilot Certificate is desirable.
