Overview
The Reporting Assistant Manager is responsible for managing PepsiCo end-to-end financial reporting process and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in accordance with PepsiCo policies, US GAAP, local accounting standards, and internal control requirements. The role serves as the accounting subject matter expert, providing guidance on accounting treatment, financial reporting implications, and governance matters across the organization.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage all financial reporting submissions to Sector, Region, and Corporate in accordance with reporting deadlines.
- Review trial balance, general ledger accounts, and chart of accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with Finance, GBS, and business functions to resolve reporting issues and meet close timelines.
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and accounting adjustments to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Ensure integrity and completeness of financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting packages.
- Prepare and present balance sheet reviews, highlighting risks, unusual movements, and remediation plans.
- Drive improvements in reporting efficiency, automation, and data quality through ERP and reporting systems
- Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Monitor critical balance sheet accounts and establish corrective actions for identified risks.
- Ensure compliance with PepsiCo financial policies, reporting controls, and governance requirements.
- Support statutory financial statement preparation and annual audit requirements.
- Coordinate external audit requests and ensure timely closure of audit observations
- Serve as the accounting subject matter expert for PepsiCo Vietnam.
- Provide guidance on accounting treatment for complex business transactions in accordance with US GAAP, local accounting standards, and PepsiCo policies.
- Assess accounting implications of new business models, commercial programs, operational initiatives, contracts, and organizational changes.
- Interpret and communicate changes in accounting standards and PepsiCo accounting policies.
- Develop accounting position papers and technical accounting recommendations when required.
- Ensure consistency of accounting practices across all business functions.
- Act as process owner for Financial Reporting controls.
- Lead GCS control execution, testing, documentation, and remediation activities.
- Ensure control documentation remains current and reflects operating practices.
- Support risk assessments and implementation of control enhancements.
- Promote a strong control and compliance culture across the finance organization.
Qualifications
- Min 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Controllership.
- Experience in FMCG, multinational corporations, manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong exposure to US GAAP, IFRS, or local accounting standards.
- Experience supporting external audits and financial reporting processes.
- Capable to work under pressure against tight and changing dead-lines and prioritize work and deliver
- Capable to work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Demonstrate strong communication, problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated person with strong leadership & supervisory skills.
- High fluency in both spoken & written English.
