  • Full-time fixed term (18 months) opportunity situated at Camperdown Campus and with travel to Westmead Campus
  • Base Salary $132,533+ 17% superannuation

We are seeking a suitably qualified full-time academic at the level of Lecturer with strong experience in teaching. You will have a PhD or be near completion (in the last six months of candidature) in nursing or an academic field relevant to the discipline. You will also have a postgraduate qualification (master’s level) and experience in one or more of these areas of nursing and healthcare. A current AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse) is a requirement for this position. You will make a significant contribution to high-quality teaching and innovative learning practices, and research in nursing. The role will be based at the Susan Wakil Health Building at Camperdown Campus with travel to Westmead campus.

 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

 

·       Undertake independent teaching in discipline, contributing to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes

·       engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences, using innovative approaches at pre-registration, honours, and post-registration levels

·       engage in supervision of research students at undergraduate level, in accordance with the requirements and expectations of the School/ Faculty/ University

·       design, coordinate and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student learning and meet accredited curriculum requirements, and contribute to the innovative design, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing curricula

·       participate in academic administration, school meetings, and initiatives aligned with the faculty and University's strategic priorities

·       contribute to a collegial and inclusive environment that values diversity, collaboration, and excellence in research and teaching

 

 

About you

 

·       current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse

·       postgraduate qualification in nursing or health care

·       PhD in a field relevant to nursing (or within six months of completion)

·       demonstrated experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in and development of effective and contemporary pedagogical practices that engage students in developing critical understanding and application of nursing practice

·       demonstrated ability to contribute to curriculum design and development in an established academic program

·       proficiency in planning, organisation, and the use of digital tools and learning technologies, with a commitment to providing high-quality service and support to students and colleagues

·       strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences including students, colleagues, clinical and other industry partners, and external interested parties

·       a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions

·       experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
