The Manufacturing Engineer plans and coordinates manufacturing processes, develops methods to improve efficiency and productivity, and provides engineering support to production departments. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role requires strong technical knowledge in valve assembly, machining, and process optimization.
Description
Role Summary:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes involving machining, assembly, and testing. Develops, and improves manufacturing methods, productivity, efficiency and analyzes and improves cost, by using specialized tools and techniques. Provides engineering support in production departments by trouble shooting and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with Manufacturing Supervisors to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data.
- Design and refine work methods to enhance productivity.
- Review ITP and Customer requirements and update routing.
- Perform time study analysis for new developments to determine standard time.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoots processed and equipment minimizing delays in production schedules.
- Ensures tooling and fixtures are available to support customer demand.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of machine tool equipment, tooling, and methods. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve throughput and quality.
- Enforces safety rules by ensuring that tooling, fixtures, and process meet all applicable OSHA regulations.
- Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed to these policies.
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player.
Requirements:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Valve components Process knowledge
- Knowledge on Valve Assembly & Testing
- Machine tool requirements & knowledge
- Preparation of tooling documents in desired software's
- Reading of Drawings and tolerance requirements (GD & T)
- Jigs & Fixture/ Special Tooling’s design
- Turn Mill Center operation
- Trevisan / HMC operation
- Trouble shooting with solution for issues in machining & products
- Co-ordination with Cross functional teams for new product developments
- BE/B. Tech Mechanical / Production Engineering field and 3 to 5 years years relevant experience.
