The primary duties of an Animal Control Officer is to:
- Protect both human and animal populations by enforcing animal laws and investigating cruelty or neglect.
- Investigate complaints from the public and other agencies regarding nuisance, stray, uncontrolled, dangerous or diseased animals.
- Conduct investigations of complaints regarding animal cruelty and neglect; investigate animal bites, arranging for appropriate identification and quarantine.
- Written reports of all activity shall be prepared.
