Field Service Expert – Pulp Mills (Lime Kiln & Pulping Maintenance)
Location: Pekanbaru, Indonesia
Are you a hands-on mechanical field service professional with strong Lime Kiln experience?
At Valmet, our field service professionals play a critical role in helping pulp mills improve reliability, safety, and maintenance performance. We are now looking for a Field Service Expert – Pulp Mills (Lime Kiln & Pulping Maintenance) to strengthen our service capability in Indonesia and selected APAC customer cases.
Valmet’s field service teams support customers with inspections, shutdowns, maintenance, troubleshooting, audits, installations and remote support. In pulp mills, our field services cover key process areas including white liquor plant and lime kiln systems, as well as broader pulping processes and equipment.
In this role, you will
- Deliver on-site field service support with primary focus on Lime Kiln and White Liquor Plant related maintenance and advisory work
- Provide backup support across Fiberline and pulping maintenance
- Support inspections, audits, troubleshooting, shutdown execution, mechanical follow-up and alignment-related work
- Advise customer maintenance teams and contractors during service execution
- Prepare professional service reports with findings, recommendations and follow-up actions
- Identify spare parts, service, upgrade and maintenance opportunities from site work
- Support technical scope definition, quotation input and customer discussions together with Valmet sales and service teams
- Train customer personnel and transfer maintenance know-how
- Travel within Indonesia and provide selected APAC support when needed
What we expect from you
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Solid hands-on experience from Lime Kiln / White Liquor Plant environments
- Experience with rotary equipment alignment
- Experience in shutdown execution
- Ability to supervise contractors and coordinate practical site work
- Good communication skills in English
- Willingness to work at customer sites, including weekends and extended site hours when required
It is an advantage if you also have
- Experience in broader Fiberline / pulping maintenance
- Experience in field service reporting and customer recommendation presentations
- Experience in service sales support, quotation input or identifying improvement opportunities at site
