What You Will Do
- Assist with professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program.
- Plan, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.
- May participate in periodic cross training and supplementary work activities within the division to comply with regulatory obligations.
The Department of Environmental Services (ENV), is recruiting for one (1) Civil Engineer III position in the Refuse Collection & Disposal Division and one (1) position in the Office of Administrative Support Division.

- Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all technical and administrative activities of simple projects assigned
- Assist higher level engineers on more complex projects and tasks

- Perform professional engineering work under general supervision including contract administration and compliance oversight for various facets of construction projects
- Plan, organize, and manage assigned Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funded projects
- Assist higher level engineers on more complex projects and tasks

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.

Substitution: A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.

NON-QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

Work experience while in an engineering student intern position will not be creditable as equivalent to professional engineering experience.
