Lifeguard - Temporary
Pay Status and Classification: Non Exempt, temporary part-time
Work Location: This position is an onsite role and is not eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Supervisor: Swimming & Diving/Aquatics Director
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise swimmers and maintain a vigilant watch over the pool area
Enforce pool rules and safety regulations
Respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies, including rescues and administering first aid/CPR as needed
Conduct routine pool checks
Assist with setting up and maintaining pool equipment--vacuuming, cleaning up the pool deck
Qualifications:
Must hold current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent)
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to stay focused and alert for extended periods
Previous lifeguarding experience preferred but not required
Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is $22 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will beset based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
