Systems Maintenance and Processes Planner

Position Summary:

The Systems Maintenance and Processes Planner review and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance plans and job packages for assigned equipment. Manage and continuously improve maintenance strategies, tactics, and schedules to ensure equipment reliability, optimize performance, and support operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, recommend, and implement maintenance strategies to support the reliability centered maintenance (RCM) or Failure Modes and effect analysis (FEMEA) methodologies for procured assets.
• Develop Standard Work Procedures (SWP) for critical plants, areas or operations.
• Identify all spares required to support the asset life of mine
• Provide assistance in critical spares requirements.
• Updating and reporting from the maintenance management system
• Collection of information and ordering of stores to enable all scheduled tasks to be completed on time
• Maintain and improve your level of technical competence in operating, diagnosing, maintaining or in other specialist arears of your role.
• Provide training and coaching to national team members in all aspects of the role and work management processes.
• Foster a positive safety culture and promote operational excellence.
• Maintain a high standard of health and safety performance and behaviors consistent with zero tolerance.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, Trade Qualified, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role.
• Experience in SAP or similar Computer maintenance management system
• MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Numerical analysis and data validation skills
• Project management & problem-solving ability
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, coaching, and decision-making skills.

Other Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Language: English required; French desirable.
• Ability to work in remote mining environments and travel as required.

About the Simandou Project
The Simandou Iron Ore Project is located in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. It is Africa’s largest infrastructure and mining project and represents one of the largest known reserves of high-grade iron ore in the world.

Rio Tinto holds rights to Simandou Blocks 3 and 4 through SimFer, a joint venture between the Government of the Republic of Guinea, Rio Tinto and Chalco Iron Ore Holdings (CIOH). Construction of the mine, together with the associated rail and port infrastructure, is well underway with first production from the SimFer mine expected in 2025.
