$54,690.00 - $82,035.00The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy technician staff members and facilitating their growth and development. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor reports to the Pharmacy Supervisors. Work schedules are determined by the Pharmacy Directors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include but are not limited to the following:
• Supervise assigned areas of the Pharmacy Department and direct support personnel
• Provide day-to-day support to pharmacy staff members
• Oversee and coordinate staff training and ongoing competency programs
• Routinely work with management and others to improve pharmaceutical services
• Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new staff members
• Provide continuous feedback on performance and conduct annual performance evaluations
• Develop and implement pharmacy technician workflows
• Assist in the development of pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Actively promote both medication safety and workplace safety
• Assign special projects and additional duties to technicians as needed
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies/expense items needed to perform departmental functions
• Handle call outs and other staffing issues to meet minimum departmental requirements
• Promote cost-effective use of medications and departmental resources
• Assume role of pharmacy technician as needed during periods of low staffing/high workloads
• Review pharmacy technician schedules and suggest changes to align with departmental needs
• Act as a liaison between pharmacists/management and pharmacy technicians
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate party
• Assure that assigned areas function within all legal, professional and regulatory standards
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
• Demonstrates basic working knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice
• Works cooperatively with staff throughout Pharmacy Department and Medical Center

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS:
Must maintain:
1) Pharmacy technician certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program
2) Pharmacy technician registration through NYS
EXPERIENCE:
3 years’ experience in health system pharmacy practice preferred.
