Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer to join our Product & Test Engineering team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of semiconductor test programs on the Advantest V93000 platform. This role sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and marketing. You will not only write code; you will serve as the technical authority who ensures our complex mixed-signal devices meet performance specifications while optimising for cost, yield, and time-to-market.

Key responsibilities in your new roleTest Development:

• Design, develop, and debug robust test programs for complex mixed-signal SoCs using C++ within the Advantest V93000 (SmarTest) environment.

Hardware Integration:

• Lead the bring-up, validation, and optimisation of loadboards and probe cards.

Cross-Functional Liaison:

• Design: Partner with Design Engineers to define design-for-test (DFT) requirements and correlate bench characterization with ATE data.
• Product Engineering: Partner with Product Engineers to drive yield improvement programs, perform statistical data analysis, and implement test time reduction (TTR) strategies.
• Applications & Marketing: Provide technical data and "shmoo" analysis to support customer inquiries and define product performance capabilities.

Independent Project Management:

• Take full ownership of the test life cycle from initial silicon bring-up and characterization through to high-volume production release.

Continuous Improvement:

• Automate data analysis workflows and diagnostic scripts using Python to improve debug efficiency and hardware troubleshooting.

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

Technical Expertise:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in semiconductor test development, specifically 5+ year on the Advantest V93000 platform.
• Strong background in mixed-signal testing (e.g., ADCs, DACs, PLLs, high-speed interfaces).
• Programming Proficiency:
• Expert-level coding skills in C++ and Java (test methodology development)
• Python (data analysis, automation, and STDF manipulation).

Analytical Rigor:

• Proven ability to debug hardware/software issues using standard lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers) and ATE diagnostic tools.

Soft Skills & Collaboration:

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical gaps between hardware, software, and commercial teams.
• Ability to speak Mandarin would be an advantage to liaise with various Backend Test sites based in China
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and prioritizing tasks based on project milestones.
