Are you a collaborative, sales-focused leader ready to guide a dynamic growing market and a highly engaged team? As a District Manager, you will be a key contributor to our regional success, acting as the primary growth catalyst for your sales territory and supporting your 4 Airgas Branches to success. You will serve as the strategic coach for your outside sales teams and your 4 branches, orchestrating business development, fostering high customer satisfaction, and guiding our sales teams to deliver excellent value to our customers. - Champion Sales performance and growth: Act as the business development guide for the district. Develop and execute territory-specific sales plans that align with national commercial priorities. Use data-driven insights through Salesforce to identify gaps, support and grow market share, and successfully develop new, sustainable business opportunities, bringing value-added services and products to our customers.
- Coach for Sales Performance: Serve as an active mentor to Outside Sales Representatives. You will be in the field, side-by-side with your team and our Customers, coaching the teams on value-based selling, effective consensus-building, and how to effectively navigate complex customer stakeholder environments to finalize agreements and address market needs. Coach the teams on adopting digital solutions to enhance growth development and implementation speed.
- Guide & Empower Branch Managers: Mentor, hire, and develop Branch teams, cultivating an environment where talent thrives and associates feel supported, championing safety and logistic excellence for the satisfaction of our customers. Ensure all operations, fleet activities, and branch facilities meet the highest compliance and safety standards. Prioritize customer satisfaction by excelling in on-time delivery to meet demand.
- Full P&L Stewardship: Steward the financial health of your district and develop its profitability sustainably. You will balance top-line sales growth with operational efficiency, ensuring that pricing strategies, margin targets, and operational expenses are collaboratively managed to maximize ROI. Support the effectiveness of cash collection for your portfolio, collaborating closely with the Collection teams in the company.
- Sales & Operations Leadership: Provide supportive leadership across both Sales and Operations to ensure optimal team performance and process efficiency, facilitating excellent service for our customers while cultivating a deeply collaborative mindset.
- Champion Performance Culture, Compliance & Safety: Set the standard for our safety-first culture and operational excellence by leading by example. Cultivate an environment defined by high engagement and shared responsibility, mutual respect, open dialogue, and continuous learning, where every team member is empowered to realize their full potential. Foster a feedback culture as a lever of performance. Encourage a continuous improvement mindset across all associates. Champion the values of trust and ethics as an inspiring leader, and promote a collaborative spirit and strong teamwork among all departments of the company.
- Performance Management and Routines: Establish structured weekly routines with teams and provide comprehensive monthly performance evaluations to leadership regarding branch and sales metrics, including pipeline growth, signature success rate, pipeline velocity, product mix, margin enhancement, service execution, and efficiency implementation. Proactively formulate and execute targeted action plans to achieve sales and operations optimization within a culture of continuous improvement.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (ideally 7+ years in a relevant field).
- A demonstrated history of advancing sustainable sales success and profitable growth.
- Demonstrated experience of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business sales-related or sales operations position. This includes prior experience mentoring a team and stewardship of a P&L (or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving gases and welding supplies).
- A collaborative approach to leadership, with a history of supporting and mentoring teams for at least 3 years.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building alignment and staying organized.
- Familiarity with Microsoft solutions, particularly Excel and Word, and experienced in data entry and order extraction.
- Numerical proficiency for practical business applications and analytical reporting.
- Resilience and adaptability to balance self-directed work with team goals and maintain focus in a dynamic environment.
- The ability to foster understanding while interacting with diverse teams and personalities.
- Familiarity with business and accounting concepts including, but not limited to, Return on Investment (ROI), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margin responsibilities
- Physical capability to lift 25-75 lbs. as needed to support operations.
- A valid driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle.
- Comfortable working in a drug-free environment.
- Flexibility to adjust your schedule to meet the needs of our customers and the management team.
- We are looking for candidates who hold a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A history of advancing sales growth and achieving consistent year-over-year progress.
- Experience in the Industrial Gas industry and/or welding is a valuable contribution.
- Experience in sales team management with a focus on sustainable growth.
- Public speaking capabilities to represent the brand with confidence.
- A demonstrated capability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- SAP experience preferred.
