Verizon Global Infrastructure (VGI) is looking for an innovative and driven leader with a passion for Cybersecurity and Technology. This role will work on securing the network and infrastructure devices, hardening the operating systems and building use cases to automate these tasks. This role will partner and work closely with key cross-functional stakeholders, like Verizon Cybersecurity (VCS), Global Network & Technology (GNT) Network Security, and our GTS Enterprise Network teams, in order to protect our network and align on proactive security measures to effectively mitigate risks, enable safe digital transformation, and defend against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
What we’re looking for…
- Supporting daily operations, including internal/external stakeholder engagement and dotted-line leadership.
- Leveraging industry proven tools to identify and reduce Cyber Risks
- Implementing next generation network security architecture, create advanced policies and controls against future threats
- Ensuring effectiveness and coverage of security, policies and controls of VGS Network & Infrastructure, prioritizing risk level.
- Ensuring Security posture of GTS Network & Infrastructure, e.g., access management, vulnerabilities remediation, etc.
- Developing awareness, training & compliance programs focused on Network & Infrastructure Cyber Security practices.
- Coordinating activities like network, penetration testing, incident response, data collection etc by partnering with the CISO teams.
- Assisting in Crisis Management, Ransomware Recovery and Business Continuity planning.
- Developing and maintaining network and infrastructure security reporting dashboards and scorecards used to measure our Cyber Practice.
- Identifying opportunities and use cases for automation to remediate vulnerabilities, implement controls, orchestrate between tools and automate security practices.
- Promoting an environment of collaboration and individual accountability when it comes to problem-solving, decision-making, and process improvements
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Two or more years of experience in Information Security, Technology or Technical Risk Analysis.
- Two or more years of experience with assessing existing controls, policies, procedures, and technologies to understand the organization's current security posture.
- Understanding of network fundamentals, switching, routing protocols, load balancers, web proxies, firewalls and software defined networking solutions.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity, network defense, and investigative frameworks (such as NIST CSF, ISO 27000 series, MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain, etc.) into network defense processes
- High-level understanding of Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, OCI) and Operating Systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, and OSX)
- Experience working in any one of the SIEM / SOAR solutions like Splunk SOAR, Cortex XSOAR by Palo Alto Networks, IBM Security QRadar SOAR, Swimlane etc
- Understanding on how to develop and configure dashboards and visualizations with tools like Grafana.
- Expertise with scripting and programming (i.e. Python) for automation of data parsing, API interactions, and custom tool development.
- Strong database skills such as SQL for querying, analyzing, and managing large databases
- Experience in creating, modifying, and executing Ansible playbooks for automation, configuration management, and orchestration of security deployments across diverse network devices and servers.
- Experience in design and implementation of network security solutions like firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPN , web proxies etc using vendor products like Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto etc
- Certifications like: Network+, Security+, CISSP or CISM
