Description
We are looking for an experienced People Services Operations Team Lead to lead our DACH People Services team supporting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Leading a team of HR professionals, you will be responsible for the delivery of end-to-end HR Services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring high quality, compliance, operational excellence, and an exceptional employee experience.
As the People Services leader for the DACH region, you will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, business leaders, and external providers, while acting as a trusted advisor on operational HR matters. Germany represents the largest market within the scope, making strong German language skills and an understanding of German HR practices critical for success.
This role is ideal for a leader who combines operational rigor with people leadership, understands modern HR Operating Models and Shared Services environments, and is passionate about continuously improving the way services are delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of circa 15 People Services Specialists supporting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- Own the delivery of end-to-end employee lifecycle services, ensuring high-quality HR operations from hire to retire.
- Oversee HR transactions, employee data management, HR documentation, and payroll-impacting activities across the DACH region.
- Ensure employee and organizational data is maintained accurately and timely within Workday and Payroll systems, enabling accurate downstream payroll processing.
- Drive performance against service levels, quality standards, compliance requirements, and customer expectations.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational issues and stakeholder concerns.
- Build strong partnerships with HR, Payroll, Employee Relations, Legal, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
- Establish a culture of accountability, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
- Challenge ways of working that fall outside the agreed HR Operating Model and Shared Services principles, while promoting standardization and scalable solutions.
- Lead process optimization, transformation, and automation initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, and employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with labor legislation, collective agreements, data privacy requirements, and internal controls across the DACH region.
Basic Qualifications:
- Several years of HR Operations, People Services, or Shared Services experience, including leadership responsibility for operational teams.
- Proven success leading, developing, and performance-managing teams in a service delivery environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end HR lifecycle processes and Payroll Operations.
- Experience working within a modern HR Operating Model, Shared Services, or Global Business Services organization.
- Experience with Workday and case management platforms such as ServiceNow.
- Understanding of SAP HR and payroll processes would be highly beneficial.
- Experience supporting Germany or the broader DACH region is strongly preferred.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Good understanding of German labor law; exposure to collective bargaining agreements (Tarifrecht) is a strong advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and trust at all levels.
- Excellent decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to balance employee experience with operational excellence and compliance requirements.
