Job Description
The Resident Program Aide is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of residents in a long term care home. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Resident Program Aide provides person centered programming that supports resident choice, independence and quality of life, with a strong focus on engaging residents living with dementia. Key responsibilities include facilitating group and individual recreation programs, documenting resident attendance and participation, contributing to care planning, communicating with families and interdisciplinary team, maintaining recreation supplies and equipment and ensuring programs are delivered in a safe and inclusive environment while following all organizational policies and infection prevention practices.
