We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior General Ledger Accountant in our Manno office.
Department overview:
The General Ledger team is a key part of EMEA Finance, responsible for managing fiscal compliance in multiple countries and group reporting under US GAAP. In addition to performing high-quality monthly closing and fiscal reporting for direct and indirect taxes, the team is also responsible for managing the dynamic landscape involving new reporting requirements, process improvements and system changes. For statutory compliance, the team successfully leads the financial statement audits for nearly 30 legal entities. We work closely with many Finance teams, including FP&A, Sales Audit, Treasury, Inventory Control, but also Payroll, Legal, IT and many business partners to achieve our common goals.
What You’ll Do:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities for assigned legal entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations through Blackline.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax return deliverables, coordinating with external auditors, tax advisors and legal advisors as needed.
- Support statutory audits, tax filings, VAT and Intrastat reporting.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Act as a key finance contact for SAP/accounting system queries and process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support special projects.
- Contribute to process improvements, system changes and new reporting requirements affecting the GL function.
- Support SOX/internal control requirements and ensure appropriate documentation for key accounting activities.
You’ll Need to Have:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an international environment
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and financial reporting; accounting certification preferred
- Experience with US GAAP, internal controls, statutory reporting, and external audits
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using SAP
