Senior Financial Accountant
Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join our New Zealand finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, supporting compliance obligations, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and our ERP environment. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help ensure the integrity of financial information and provide insights that support sound business decision-making.
You will lead the preparation of statutory and management reporting, forecasts, cash flow analysis, and financial performance commentary, while overseeing key control activities including balance sheet reviews, intercompany accounting, expense management, and group reporting requirements. The role also has responsibility for indirect tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory obligations.
A key part of the position involves supporting year-end reporting and external audits, maintaining the integrity of finance systems, and enhancing reporting, automation, and financial controls. As part of the wider finance team, you will contribute to finance transformation initiatives, embed consistent accounting practices, improve processes and documentation, and help drive best practice across systems, reconciliations, and reporting.
This role is for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Mōu ake | About You
Ideally, CA qualified (or near and committed to completion), you will have a solid accounting and compliance background. Ideally, you will have audit experience, or we also invite applications from candidates with financial operations experience from a large, multinational environment. You’ll be confident in your ability to produce strong and meaningful analysis on the back of quality data and an optimistic approach to change. You’ll be conscientious, keen to learn, confident to question and share ideas and view opportunities through a continuous improvement lens.
