Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for an Engineer Software. We are looking for you to join our team as an Engineer Software based out of Orlando, FL. As an Engineer Software at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Sentinel Training Devices Team in Orlando, FL. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development of Strategic Operating Units, executing both sustainment and modernization programs
- Contributing to software engineering initiatives with software design & development, software test and integration, and DevOps expertise
- Using a variety of software languages, technologies, and industry best practices
- Supporting all phases of the development life cycle for flight, mission, lab and tools software
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 2 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree and 0 years of related technical experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated experience developing software with C++, JavaScript, and Python
- Demonstrated experience building modern, scalable, and maintainable web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Demonstrated experience debugging software and resolving defects
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Git and GitLab for version control, collaborative development, and resolving merge conflicts in team settings
- Demonstrated experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain SAP access
- Experience developing in Linux environments, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for programming, code review, and productivity enhancement
- Experience automating tasks with Bash or similar scripting languages
- Experience developing with embedded C++ on System-on-Chip (SoC) boards such as Zynq Ultrascale+ or similar products
- Experience configuring and using code analysis tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, or similar
- Experience working with automated testing frameworks including Eggplant and Microsoft Testing Framework
- Experience implementing continuous integration solutions with technologies such as Jenkins and Bamboo
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
