Description

FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.

At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations.

The Senior Director, Client Intelligence Technology, will serve as the strategic technology partner to product leaders across FactSet's Research Intelligence, Advisor & Client Intelligence, Capital Markets, and Quantitative Analytics businesses. Reporting directly to the CTO, this senior leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy, delivery, and ongoing operation of products across these distinct but connected businesses. This hybrid position is open to candidates based in New York, Norwalk, London and India.

This position will lead a global engineering team through a period of platform modernization, accelerating the transition to cloud-native, AI-powered, and agentic solutions while ensuring operational excellence, product quality, security, and regulatory compliance. With responsibility for technology outcomes across four strategic businesses, this role provides the opportunity to directly influence product innovation, client value, and key business outcomes, helping drive FactSet's continued growth. The portfolio of businesses includes:

  • Capital Markets provides industry-leading technology and workflow solutions for investment bankers, dealmakers, and private capital professionals, including FactSet AI for Banking, research and modeling applications, pitchbook creation tools, and private capital GP solutions.

  • Research Intelligence simplifies and connects the research lifecycle for investors, advisors, and enterprises. The business delivers capabilities across screening, multi-asset market analysis, document and event intelligence, company modeling, and internal and investor research management.

  • Advisor & Client Intelligence (ACI) delivers a modern, web-based, agentic platform that combines analytics, content, and workflows to provide a unified advisor experience. Designed to help advisors operate more efficiently, deepen client relationships, and drive business growth, ACI delivers solutions across three core workflow areas: Security (Funds, ETFs, Options, Structured Products, Approved Lists), Portfolio (Advisor Dashboard, PropGen, Portfolio/Model Management), and Client (Intelligent Prospecting, Widgets, Investment Dashboard).

  • Quantitative Analytics delivers quantitative research and portfolio construction solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end technology strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Client Intelligence portfolio including Capital Markets, Research Intelligence, Quantitative Analytics, and Advisor & Client Intelligence, driving innovation and technological differentiation across each business.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Design, and business leaders to translate commercial strategy into a prioritized, outcome-driven engineering plan.

  • Drive modernization initiatives, advancing the transition to web-based, agentic platforms while embedding AI and GenAI capabilities (e.g., FactSet AI for Banking) into core client workflows.

  • Lead, scale, and develop a globally distributed, multidisciplinary engineering organization while maintaining high standards for delivery, velocity and quality.

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of production services, establishing clear SLAs/SLOs and a culture of operational excellence.

  • Set and enforce engineering standards and architecture governance across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.

  • Own the portfolio's technology financials including budgeting, headcount planning, vendor and partner management, and build-vs-buy decisions.

  • Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent; build succession plans and a high-performance, inclusive team culture.

  • Represent technology in executive forums, providing transparent reporting on delivery health, risks, and investment trade-offs.

  • Champion data governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to financial services and wealth-management clients.

Required Skills:

  • 15+ years of technology experience, including 5+ years leading engineering organizations at scale, ideally within financial technology, capital markets, or wealth/advisor platforms.

  • Proven track record delivering complex, cloud-native SaaS products and platforms in an agile environment.

  • Deep technical breadth across modern web application architecture, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems, with the hands-on credibility to guide architectural decisions.

  • Experience embedding AI/ML or GenAI/agentic capabilities into enterprise products.

  • Strong understanding of data platforms, real-time market and financial data delivered at scale.

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site, globally distributed teams across different time zones and cultures

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and portfolio-level investment decisions.

  • Experience operating in a regulated environment with a strong appreciation for security, privacy, and compliance.

Leadership and Behavioral Competencies

  • Strategic vision balanced with a bias for execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Inspirational leader who builds trust, develops talent, and fosters an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on delivering exceptional business outcomes.

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills; able to influence and align stakeholders across technology, product, and key areas of the business.

  • Customer-obsessed, with a relentless focus on delivering value to advisors, dealmakers, investors, and enterprise clients.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving change, and leading through transformation.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decisiveness, with the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs that balance competing priorities under real-world constraints.

  • Collaborative and outcome-oriented, building alignment, influencing stakeholders, and driving results across a matrixed organization.

  • Technically credible leader who balances strategic vision with deep technical expertise, earning the respect of engineering teams and driving well-informed architectural, technology, and investment decisions.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required.

  • Advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred.

The budgeted amount range for this position in the State of Connecticut and New York City is $200,000 - $260,000.
