Job Summary:The basic responsibility of this position is to provide cleaning and upkeep of the public areas in Employee Residences at a specific location. The Dorm Custodian will follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules and work with the Housing Manager/Assistant and Residence Coordinators on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide cleaning and upkeep of public areas in Employee Residences at the assigned location.
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules; collaborate with Housing Manager/Assistant and Residence Coordinators on special projects as needed.
- Safely and thoroughly clean employee dorms and their immediate vicinity.
- Use proper operating and preventative maintenance techniques with company-issued equipment and cleaning agents (e.g., vacuum cleaners, chemicals).
- Report to the Housing Manager/Assistant daily for check-in and check-out.
- Handle issued keys with appropriate security measures.
- Participate in, plan, and support community involvement efforts, including dorm/community meetings and events; help foster a fun, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Support fellow staff members and contribute to team efforts as needed.
- Independently perform routine cleaning duties to maintain health and fire safety standards in residences.
- Serve as a role model for residents by observing all residence hall regulations, company policies, and state/federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Understands and applies standard cleaning methods to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. Follows established protocols for using cleaning agents and equipment, ensuring proper care of facilities and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Effectively manages time and tasks by following daily and weekly cleaning schedules. Keeps supplies and equipment organized, prioritizes responsibilities, and adapts to changing needs or special projects as directed by supervisors.
- Completes assigned duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
- Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors to support shared goals, contributes to a positive team environment, and assists others as needed.
Physical Requirements include:
- Able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes at a time.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work above 7,700 feet elevation.
- Can navigate housing facilities and climb stairs daily.
- Can walk continuously for up to one mile.
- Comfortable walking on uneven, icy, or snow-covered terrain.
