Your Opportunity as the Analyst, Transportation
The Transportation Analyst is responsible for ensuring real-time visibility and performance monitoring of all shipments. This role plays a critical part in daily transportation execution by proactively identifying service risks, resolving issues, and communicating shipment exceptions with urgency and accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, excels at multitasking, and maintains strong working relationships across carriers, internal teams, and external partners.
Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices
Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires. (occasional weekend work once per month)
In this role you will:
Daily Shipment Monitoring
Monitor carrier performance and load status across all transportation modes on a daily basis
Track loads using Transportation Management System (TMS), dashboards, tracking provider, and direct communication to ensure on‑time execution
Validate appointment adherence and proactively identify potentially late or at‑risk shipments
Issue Identification & Resolution
Investigate and resolve routine and complex shipment issues, including delays, tracking gaps, equipment challenges, and routing discrepancies
Make decisions to replace carriers on failed or high‑risk shipments, evaluating cost, service risk, and operational impact on a case‑by‑case basis
Collaborate directly with carriers and internal transportation team to remove obstacles and keep freight moving
Escalate service failures and issues with urgency following established escalation paths
Communication & Coordination
Provide timely, accurate updates on shipment exceptions to internal stakeholders, including customer service, planning, warehouse operations, and leadership
Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound communication with a calm, professional demeanor
Document all service exceptions, resolutions, and carrier responses within the TMS
Performance & Compliance Support
Ensure carriers follow required communication, tracking, and service expectations
Assist in monitoring and reporting KPIs related to on-time performance, tracking compliance, and issue resolution
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing late shipments and improving carrier reliability
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 1 year of Transportation, Supply Chain, or CPG experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
Detail oriented, organized and ability to multi-task
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Written & Oral Communication – Willing to speak on phone and video conference
Proven ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
