Position Summary
The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) leads shift operations to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and a positive patient experience. The CANM oversees daily clinical operations, including patient assignments, staffing, productivity, and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Leads daily shift operations to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and an exceptional patient experience.
- Oversees staffing, patient assignments, and resource allocation based on patient acuity and operational needs.
- Coordinates patient care and throughput with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve quality and length-of-stay goals.
- Serves as a clinical resource, providing direct patient care, mentoring staff, and supporting evidence-based practice.
- Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through rounds, huddles, and quality initiatives.
- Supports team engagement, professional development, retention, and an inclusive, positive work environment.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and readiness requirements.
- Models the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health and Orlando Health while supporting strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certification in area of expertise; preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in ICU setting. Neuro ICU experience preferred.
