Description
The Cathy Mabry Cloninger Center is a domestic violence shelter providing real time crisis support both in person with residents and through our 24-hour crisis line.
HOURS: Rotating 12-Hour weekend shifts and weekday evening coverage as needed. Position requires the physical ability to perform household tasks, carry packages, lifting, and bending.The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment
In compliance with G.S.153A-94.2 (b), if the position being filled requires an applicant for employment to work with children in any capacity, the County must require the applicant, if offered the position, to be subject to a criminal history record check conducted by the SBI. These checks must be performed in accordance with G.S.143B-1209.26, whichauthorizes the SBI to provide fingerprint-based state and national criminal record checks to cities and counties.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $16.88 - $20.04
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform

- Oversees and manages the Shelter residence operation after hours and on weekends. This includes daily inspection of Shelter, ensuring proper cleanliness of common areas, cleaning rooms, reinforcing house rules, overseeing daily chores assigned to residents, restocking essential items, and completing documentation.
- Oversees a safe, non-judgmental and empowering environment for victims of domestic violence utilizing the crisis line and residential shelter services by exhibiting sensitivity and concern while interacting with survivors. Provides safety planning and referral as needed. Determines eligibility, documents all crisis calls thoroughly, and documenting any incidents.
- Provides daily direct services to shelter residents including: intake of new residents, discharge of exiting residents, conflict resolution, and assistance with daily living tasks. Direct services of the shelter to include preparing meals accepting donations, and security monitoring. Is able to provide shift coverage for other operators as needed.
- Performs routine administrative and maintenance tasks daily, weekly, monthly. Attends training and team meetings as requested.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
