About the Role
BDO Australia is seeking a Senior Manager, AML/CTF to lead the ongoing delivery and enhancement of our Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) framework and compliance activities.
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, this role will oversee the effective delivery and continuous enhancement of BDO's AML/CTF program, supporting risk-based assessments of clients and staff, maintaining robust controls, and acting as a key liaison with regulators.

In this role, the successful candidate will:
Manage compliance activities in line with the AML/CTF Act and associated regulatory obligations
Act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC, overseeing regulatory engagements, reporting and regulatory enquiries
Engage and report to the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and governance forums on AML/CTF risks, obligations, regulatory developments, and program effectiveness
Partner with Service Line Quality Leaders and stakeholders to embed AML/CTF requirements, controls and processes across the firm, providing practical guidance on AML/CTF risks and obligations
Develop, implement, and maintain AML/CTF policies, procedures, and systems to support compliance and mitigate risk
Coach, mentor and support AML team members, developing capability through knowledge sharing and leadership.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
Demonstrated experience leading an AML/CTF program or framework
Strong knowledge of the AML/CTF Act and Rules
Experience communicating and reporting to AUSTRAC
Prior team leadership experience overseeing geographically dispersed teams
Familiarity with AML/CTF due diligence platforms (FirstAML highly regarded)
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven ability to influence, advise and report to Executive stakeholders.
