Overview

Your Opportunity

Whether you are seeking a work term (co-op/internship) to gain hands-on experience, or you are nearing the end of your educational journey and have found something you are passionate about, we are here to help. You are thinking about how to build your career, how to find that place where you can be part of a team, where you can lean in, roll up your sleeves, get to work, and make a difference.

At Dillon, we define our values as shared expectations and beliefs that bind us. It all starts there. And because our values are the heart of Dillon, we are committed to investing in the next generation of professionals. We will provide you with the hands-on experience, mentorship, and momentum you need to build a lasting and fulfilling career. We offer dynamic, high-impact work where you can collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to tackle critical environmental and infrastructure problems and turn big ideas into tangible community solutions.

Opportunities are available across various Dillon offices.

We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

We are continually looking for passionate University of Toronto students and new graduates to join our team across a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Civil Engineering: To design, build, and rehabilitate vital community systems, transit networks, and water/wastewater facilities.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Engineering: To design high-performance building systems, drive energy efficiency, and deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Planning: To shape resilient, sustainable, and socially inclusive communities from the ground up.
  • Geoscience & GIS: To protect human health and the environment through tailored site management, mapping, and remediation solutions.
  • Environmental Sciences: To lead environmental planning, natural resource management, and atmospheric services.
  • Water & Waste Management: To engineer innovative, long-term solutions for municipal and industrial water treatment, waste diversion, and sustainable resource recovery.
  • Energy Transition: To develop and implement strategies that reduce carbon footprints, optimize energy use, and support our clients in achieving their sustainability goals

General Responsibilities

While specific day-to-day duties will vary depending on your discipline and whether you are joining us for a work term or as a full-time new graduate, early career professionals at Dillon typically:

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to solve project-based challenges
  • Assist project managers and technical leaders with ongoing and new projects
  • Assist in the preparation of designs, technical specifications, and studies
  • Participate in site investigations, condition assessments, and field data collection
  • Complete design and analysis activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful completion
  • Contribute to business development activities, including client need research and project proposals
  • Complete reviews of safe work practices and perform risk assessments for employee tasks
  • Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and active participation in professional associations
  • Travel occasionally to other Dillon offices or project sites as required
