Description
Marketing Director – Companion Animal and Equine
About Zoetis
Zoetis is the world’s leading animal health company, driven by a purpose to nurture our world and humankind by advancing care for animals. For more than 70 years, Zoetis has combined rigorous science, data-driven research and deep customer partnerships to discover, develop, manufacture and commercialise vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, biopharmaceuticals and digital solutions for companion animals and livestock. In Australia, our teams work with veterinarians, producers, pet owners and partners to turn global innovation into practical solutions that help animals live healthier lives and contribute to a healthier future for all.
The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead the marketing agenda for Zoetis Australia’s Companion Animal portfolio. As Marketing Director, you will own the portfolio, brand and customer strategy — turning insight into bold choices, integrated plans and sustainable commercial growth. You will set the direction for revenue, profitability, market share and customer outcomes while building the capability of the team around you.
You will operate at the intersection of science, customer need and commercial opportunity. Working across a contested and regulated animal-health environment, you will influence senior stakeholders, shape portfolio and lifecycle decisions, accelerate digital and innovation agendas, and ensure that marketing makes a visible difference to the business and the customers it serves.
What you’ll do
- Own the Companion Animal portfolio and marketing strategy for the Australian business, translating business-unit priorities into clear growth choices, annual plans and measurable outcomes.
- Lead portfolio architecture, brand strategy, lifecycle management, launches and optimisation across the Companion Animal portfolio.
- Set the marketing operating plan, govern investment and manage financial reporting across Advertising and Promotion (A&P), using return-on-investment thinking to focus resources on the highest-value opportunities.
- Shape customer, channel and omnichannel strategy across veterinary, retail and relevant animal-health audiences, turning customer insight into distinctive propositions and stronger partnerships that differentiate Zoetis in the market.
- Establish a clear performance rhythm across awareness, leads, sales, revenue, profitability, market share and customer outcomes — using data and forecasting to identify opportunities and course-correct early.
- Lead marketing transformation, automation, digital capability and relevant technology adoption, simplifying ways of working and scaling what works.
- Build alignment across the CA Leadership Team, Sales, Veterinary Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Commercial Operations, Centre of Excellence, Global Manufacturing and Supply, and regional and global partners.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team; build succession and capability; attract and retain talent; and create an inclusive culture where people take accountability and perform at their best.
What you’ll bring
- Significant senior marketing or commercial leadership experience, with a track record of shaping strategy and delivering measurable growth in a complex organisation.
- Strong portfolio, brand, lifecycle and customer-marketing capability, with the judgement to make clear choices in an environment of competing priorities.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including experience with revenue, profitability, market share, investment governance, return-on-investment decisions and accrual accounting.
- A customer-led, data-informed approach and the ability to turn insight into strategy, execution and results.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and building organisational capability, succession and accountability.
- Executive presence and the ability to influence across functions, geographies and a global matrix — including the confidence to constructively challenge and align stakeholders.
- Experience in a regulated industry is highly advantageous. Animal Health experience is preferred but not essential.
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce or a related discipline; postgraduate study or relevant professional accreditation is valued.
How you’ll make an impact
Success will be visible in the choices you make and the momentum you create: a focused portfolio strategy, stronger customer relevance, disciplined investment, measurable commercial outcomes, compliant and distinctive execution, and a team that is growing in capability and impact.
Our Zoetis culture
