Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) builds community by promoting the joy of reading and learning. Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is seeking to fill two (2) part-time Teen Services Library Assistant positions at the Brambleton and Gum Spring Libraries. As a member of an enthusiastic team, Teen Services Library Assistants:
• Provide direct customer service in reference, reader's advisory, programming and circulation functions.
• Assist customers in the use of library resources and technologies.
• Work in a collaborative environment with other staff to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach.
• Plan and lead programs for Teens.
• Conduct outreach and create partnerships with community organizations.
Successful candidates will be passionate, creative team players with excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess strong multi-tasking, organizational and technology skills. All staff work in a collaborative environment to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. LCPL provides services seven (7) days a week. Work schedules vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
High School Diploma; two (2) years of prior experience providing direct customer service to the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred. Loudoun County provides a language stipend for individuals who pass a language proficiency test.
Must undergo criminal and credit background checks Notary Public License and/or Passport Acceptance Agent certification may be required within one year of hire date. Work requires the ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Some bending, reaching, walking and standing required. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
