M68 - Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to support multiple product squads working with government agencies to redesign workflows and develop AI-enabled solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming prototypes into reliable, production-ready applications by improving code quality, implementing testing frameworks, managing deployments, and providing technical support during pilot and implementation phases.

This role requires a versatile engineer who is comfortable working across full-stack development, DevOps, testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance full-stack web applications, including frontend, backend, APIs, and system integrations.
• Refactor and productionise prototypes by improving code quality, architecture, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Set up, configure, and maintain development, testing, and deployment environments.
• Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and automated deployment processes.
• Establish logging, monitoring, observability, and alerting mechanisms to ensure application stability during pilots and production deployments.
• Design, develop, and execute unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and technical issues identified during user testing and live pilots.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, and government agency stakeholders to address technical challenges and support successful implementation.
• Support multiple product squads and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred.
• Proven experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack web applications.
• Proficiency in modern frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript.
• Experience in backend development using Python-based frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, application integrations, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud or container-based deployment environments.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, code reviews, and software development best practices.
• Understanding of application logging, monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivering production-ready solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing or deploying AI-enabled applications, Large Language Model (LLM) workflows, or agentic AI systems.
• Experience supporting application pilots, production deployments, and post-implementation activities.
• Prior experience working with government agencies or public sector digital transformation projects will be advantageous.
