Job Summary
The Sales Learning Content Developer designs, develops, and maintains high-quality learning content that equips The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s sales teams to sell confidently, accurately, and consistently in a luxury environment. The role converts business needs, product information, process changes, systems, and sales methodology into clear, engaging, performance-based learning experiences across instructor-led, virtual, digital, microlearning, job-aid, and knowledge formats. Working closely with subject-matter experts, facilitators, sales leaders, Marketing, and Sales Operations, the Content Developer applies instructional-design discipline while preserving brand voice and ensuring content is practical for the moment of need.
Essential Functions
Design and develop sales onboarding, product knowledge, luxury selling, systems, process, service, leadership, and ongoing development content.
Apply instructional-design and adult-learning principles to create measurable learning objectives, practice activities, assessments, facilitator guides, participant materials, eLearning, microlearning, videos, and job aids.
Translate complex or changing business information into concise, accurate, engaging learning that supports frontline performance.
Develop content that reinforces value creation, consultative selling, guest discovery, storytelling, objection handling, closing, clienteling, and relationship-based luxury sales.
Partner with subject-matter experts to gather requirements, validate accuracy, resolve conflicting inputs, and secure approvals.
Collaborate with Marketing and Brand stakeholders to ensure learning materials reflect approved brand standards, imagery, terminology, and positioning.
Build content for the LMS and other digital learning platforms and maintain appropriate version control and metadata.
Create assessments and skill-validation tools that measure knowledge, application, and proficiency.
Observe training and gather learner/facilitator feedback to improve content usability and effectiveness.
Use performance data and business outcomes to prioritize revisions and recommend new learning interventions.
Maintain a structured content lifecycle, including ownership, review dates, approvals, archival, and retirement of obsolete materials.
Partner with Sales Operations and Knowledge Management so formal learning and point-of-need knowledge remain aligned.
Evaluate new authoring tools, AI-enabled development methods, and learning technologies within approved enterprise standards.
Manage multiple development projects simultaneously and meet launch deadlines tied to product, system, or commercial changes.

Competency
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technology, Communications, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent portfolio and experience considered.
Experience:
5+ years of instructional design, learning content development, enablement, or related experience.
Demonstrated portfolio creating instructor-led, virtual, digital, and performance-support content for adult learners.
Experience developing sales, hospitality, travel, reservations-center, or service learning strongly preferred.
Proficiency with modern authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or comparable platforms and experience working with an LMS.
Experience collaborating with subject-matter experts and managing content through review and approval cycles.
Luxury brand experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong instructional designer who starts with performance outcomes rather than information volume.
Excellent writing, editing, visual-organization, and information-design skills.
Ability to simplify complex information without sacrificing accuracy or nuance.
Strong project management, version control, quality assurance, and attention to detail.
Comfort with digital learning tools, multimedia, AI-assisted workflows, and rapid content development.
Curiosity about learner behavior, sales performance, and emerging learning practices.

Work Environment
Primarily office-based/hybrid role in a professional environment with regular use of computers, collaboration technology, and standard office equipment. The role requires effective collaboration with global shoreside and shipboard teams and may include visits to yacht operations, industry events, partner locations, or other company facilities.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, presentation equipment, telephones, and other office equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time and primarily office-based/hybrid. Occasional domestic travel and yacht visits may be required, generally less than 10%.
