The minimum and maximum projected annualized salary for this position is: $104,071.41 to $173,691.72. Additional compensation may be possible based on experience and skills.
We understand the need to be creative and flexible when it comes to telecommuting and other alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work and will work in the ability to work from Tysons / Baltimore / Bethesda four days per week.
Responsibilities
The SBA Relationship Manager is responsible for developing new business relationships and growing existing commercial client partnerships by delivering tailored lending and banking solutions that meet client needs. This role serves as a trusted advisor throughout the lending process, originating SBA and commercial loan opportunities, conducting financial analysis and underwriting, structuring credit solutions, and presenting recommendations for approval. The Relationship Manager partners closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and credit teams to drive transactions from prospecting through closing while delivering an exceptional client experience and supporting portfolio growth objectives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and underwrites customer loan requests and makes appropriate recommendation.
- Ensures the bank’s policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the origination process.
- Develops new business across all bank product lines.
- Reviews loan documents for accuracy prior to loan closing.
- Participates in networking events, community events and will develop / maintain a network of referral contacts within the market.
- Actively monitors and administers portfolio to gauge credit quality.
- Participates in the closing process and onboarding of client per SBA and Bank requirements.
- Analyzes new requests for SBA eligibility, credit, issues term sheets, underwrites eligible loans and drafts commitment letter per SBA SOP and Bank policy.
- Stays current with SBA policy changes and SBA systems such as E-Tran and SBAOne.
- Continues education of SBA policies and procedures.
- Coordinates PA and PM activities as it relates to loan origination and portfolio management as applicable.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) relatable area or commensurate additional SBA lending and/or portfolio management
- 2 years SBA lending or portfolio management in a financial institution required, with hands-on experience in loan underwriting and analysis
- Understanding of principles of financial analysis
- Working knowledge and understanding of SBA SOP (most recent version) and Servicing SOP
- Good customer management and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of banking products and services
- Ability to analyze and present a credit request in line with Bank policy and SBA SOPs
Preferences:
- 7a Lender Diploma through the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders
