Job Description: Fixed Income – Treasury  

Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai

Role overview

Abans Group is looking for a senior fixed income professional to set up and lead a desk focused on raising funds through Abans NCDs and

distributing them to investors. The role requires someone who can bring an established network of institutional investors, distribution

channels, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and family offices, and convert those relationships into successful fundraises and placements.

The candidate will own the investor coverage strategy, build the distribution network and work closely with Treasury and internal teams

throughout the fundraising process.

Key responsibilities

Capital raising  

• Develop and execute a fundraising plan for Abans NCDs in line with the Group’s funding requirements.

• Identify suitable investor segments for each opportunity and build a pipeline of potential commitments.

• Lead discussions with investors on the investment proposition, proposed terms, pricing and timelines, in coordination with Treasury

and other internal teams.

• Drive transactions from initial investor engagement through commitment, documentation, allocation and closure.

Institutional sales and distribution

• Build and manage an active network of institutional investors, FPIs, family offices and fixed income distribution partners.

• Establish relationships with wealth platforms, brokers and other relevant channels that can support NCD placement.

• Develop a distribution and sell-down strategy for Abans NCDs, including investor targeting and channel coverage.

• Maintain regular contact with investors and partners to understand their mandates, risk appetite, return expectations and

investment processes.

Desk setup and business development

• Identify the people and capabilities needed to scale the desk and manage the team as it grows.

• Work closely with Treasury, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Operations to ensure transactions progress efficiently.

Market and regulatory awareness

• Strong understanding of debt pricing

• Apply a working understanding of the laws, regulations and compliance requirements relevant to treasury fundraising, NCD issuance,

investor eligibility and distribution.

• Ensure investor communications and transaction processes follow the approvals and controls established by the Group.

Candidate requirements

• Substantial experience in fixed income institutional sales, NCD placement, debt capital markets, treasury fundraising or debt

distribution.

• A proven record of raising capital through NCDs, bonds or similar debt instruments and placing those instruments with investors.

• Established, active relationships with institutional investors, distribution channels, FPIs and family offices. The ability to demonstrate

relevant transaction activity through these relationships is essential.

• Experience developing a distribution network and managing transactions from investor origination to closure.

• Strong understanding fixed income market dynamics.

• Working knowledge of the legal and compliance framework relevant to debt fundraising and distribution.

• Ability to build a desk, lead a team and work effectively with Treasury and control functions.

• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills and senior stakeholder management.

Preferred background: Banks, NBFCs, investment banks, brokerages, debt arrangers, fixed income platforms or institutional distribution

businesses.
