In this role, you will lead the documentation strategy across our product ecosystem, diving deep into SQL and NoSQL database technologies to produce high-impact, developer-focused content.
This is a senior leadership role for a seasoned technical communicator who can craft comprehensive API references, tutorials, and practical code examples while championing Docs-as-Code workflows, elevating content quality, and driving engineering best practices. You will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support teams to identify user pain points, translate complex use cases, and ensure our documentation sets the industry standard.
Key Responsibilities
-
Developer Content Leadership: Architect, structure, and maintain clear, high-quality developer documentation, including hands-on tutorials, REST API references, and realistic code samples.
-
Feature & Release Alignment: Partner closely with Engineering and Product Management teams to deliver complete, launch-ready documentation for major product releases and new capabilities.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across Customer Support and Product teams to analyze user feedback, identify documentation gaps, and turn complex database use cases into intuitive technical content.
-
Standards & Process Excellence: Drive our technical writing strategy by refining style guides, optimizing Docs-as-Code workflows, and leveraging content analytics and KPIs to continuously measure and elevate quality.
-
Mentorship & Growth: Foster technical writing excellence across the organization through peer mentoring, editorial reviews, and team training initiatives.
-
Industry Engagement: Stay at the forefront of technical communication by tracking industry trends, benchmarking competitive documentation, and exploring modern approaches such as GenAI for content development.
What We're Looking For
Requirements & Experience
-
Technical Writing: 8+ years of technical writing experience, with deep exposure to database architectures and developer-centric enterprise products.
-
Database & Query Knowledge: Solid understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database management systems (e.g., Couchbase, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, or DynamoDB).
-
Docs-as-Code & Infrastructure: Deep expertise with Git, VSCode, and static site generation platforms (such as Antora, MkDocs, Mintlify, or Hugo).
-
Programming & API Proficiency: Hands-on experience documenting REST APIs along with the ability to read and write sample code in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C++, Rust, or Ruby).
-
AI & Metrics Integration: Practical experience using documentation analytics and KPIs to guide content strategy, paired with familiarity with GenAI tools for documentation and development.
Mindset & Fit
-
Strategic Leader: You have a proven track record of setting direction, establishing processes, and lifting the standard of technical content across an enterprise product suite.
-
Proactive & Action-Oriented: You thrive with autonomy, take initiative to solve complex architectural problems, and learn by doing.
-
Curious & Adaptable: You stay ahead of industry shifts, continuously exploring new tools, languages, and documentation methodologies on the fly.
-
Quality-Driven: You maintain an uncompromising bar for technical accuracy, clarity, and developer experience in everything you publish.

- Win as One Team: No one wins alone. Collaboration is how we erase silos.
- Build for Mission Critical: Our product earned customer trust. We honor it by relentlessly pushing what’s technically possible.
