Senior Engineer

• The Senior Engineer (Roads) is responsible for providing specialist technical leadership and delivery of road and highway engineering services across the planning, design, procurement, construction supervision and asset management phases of infrastructure projects. The role supports the successful delivery of transport infrastructure projects by applying sound engineering principles, industry best practices, and SMEC/SJ technical standards.
• The Senior Engineer (Roads) leads or contributes to the development of road and highway designs, pavement engineering solutions, geometric design, road safety assessments, drainage coordination, rehabilitation strategies, and construction support services. The position provides technical guidance to project teams, supports project managers in achieving delivery objectives, and ensures engineering outputs meet quality, safety, environmental and client requirements.
• The role is responsible for ensuring that road engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with SJ Group's Business Management System (BMS), Project Management System (PMS), applicable design standards, quality management procedures, and delegated authority requirements. The Senior Engineer (Roads) works closely with clients, contractors, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable, and cost-effective transport infrastructure solutions.
