Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Pay: $20.00–$23.00/hour
Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities in a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment.
This position is responsible for shipping and receiving documentation, carrier scheduling, dock coordination, warehouse system transactions, inventory accuracy, and communication with drivers, carriers, customers, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities and priorities
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping records, and receiving documentation
- Enter and maintain accurate transactions in WMS, ERP, or inventory systems
- Verify part numbers, quantities, labels, customer information, trailer numbers, and shipment destinations
- Maintain daily shipping and receiving schedules
- Coordinate carrier appointments, pickups, deliveries, and dock assignments
- Communicate with customers, carriers, drivers, forklift operators, and internal teams
- Provide clear direction to forklift operators regarding:
- Material to be loaded or unloaded
- Trailer and truck assignments
- Dock-door assignments
- Loading and unloading priorities
- Customer-specific requirements
- Monitor loading activities to ensure the correct materials, quantities, trailers, and destinations are used
- Verify outbound shipments are accurate and complete before trucks are released
- Coordinate incoming materials to ensure they are received, identified, staged, and communicated appropriately
- Communicate with customer locations regarding shipment schedules, delivery requirements, shortages, changes, and urgent requests
- Respond quickly to expedited shipments and changing customer requirements
Qualifications
- Previous shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
- Experience with shipping and receiving documentation, including BOLs and packing lists
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP, or inventory system
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and changing schedules
- Strong communication skills with customers, carriers, drivers, and warehouse personnel
- Ability to coordinate dock activity and provide clear direction to forklift operators
- High school diploma or GED preferred
