Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software and systems that meet functional and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and designers, to align system requirements and project goals.
- Ensure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure, meeting best practices and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in systems and software applications.
- Perform regular system updates, feature enhancements, and software testing to improve performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design diagrams, workflow descriptions, and user manuals.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance software development processes.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, equity, and inclusion by mentoring colleagues and participating in knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
- Proficiency in systems engineering concepts, including system integrations, architecture, and deployments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, or Blockchain.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
Day-to-Day
- Implement high-quality software systems, participating in the design, coding, and testing phases.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose errors, and deploy real-time fixes to maintain optimal functionality.
- Interact with stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and align deliverables with business objectives.
- Conduct peer reviews of code to ensure quality, scalability, and adherence to company standards.
- Participate in team stand-ups, brainstorming sessions, and strategy discussions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute innovative ideas to improve workflows and tools.
