Description
About Giga
Giga is building gigawatts of AI data centers to hasten a future of intelligence and abundance. We build data centers fast and at scale by combining the capabilities of an equipment supplier, engineering firm, general contractor, and real estate developer under one roof. Our team moves quickly and thinks practically. If you're ready to make an impact in an industry that matters, we're looking for people like you.
Why join Giga
- The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
- The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
- The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
- The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.
Build the delivery operation behind GigaBase
Giga Energy builds data centers. GigaBase is our modular data center product, manufactured in internal and partner factories in China and delivered to sites we develop in the United States. This role owns the execution plan for one site's modules from contract handoff through accepted delivery to the construction team.
You will connect engineering, procurement, factories, freight and site readiness into one dependable plan. At any point, you should be able to explain what is ordered, what is being built, what is moving, what threatens the required date and which decision would change the outcome. You will build the tracking system and working rhythm as you deliver the first projects, then make them useful for the next site.
What you'll do
- Turn the signed scope and engineering inputs into a complete module and long-lead plan. Identify missing specifications and secure accountable owners before a gap becomes a late surprise.
- Build and maintain the integrated delivery schedule, working backward from site need dates through inspection, transit, production and purchase orders. Show dependencies, float and the effect of each change.
- Coordinate commitments with China product and procurement teams, factories, vendors and logistics partners. Keep actual status and supporting information current across the systems people use.
- Drive delivery decisions. Compare ship, hold and re-sequence options with explicit schedule and cost consequences; obtain required engineering and quality approvals and escalate material trade-offs with a recommendation.
- Control scope-change impacts and delivery risks. Record what changed, who decides, the response owner and when the next decision is needed.
- Hand off complete delivery information to construction, including arrival sequence, inspection and acceptance status, open items and responsibility for resolving them.
- Build repeatable ways of working. Use AI to reduce manual reconciliation and preparation, verify its output, help define the order-execution platform and document the process so another operator can run it.
Where you'll work
This role is based in Houston, Texas, United States. You will work in the Houston office full-time, with bi-weekly WFH Fridays. Travel to sites, factories and vendors is expected as project needs require. The work includes coordination across US and China time zones.
What strong performance looks like
The team uses one current delivery plan with visible owners and dependable inputs. Risks reach the right decision-maker while there is still time to act. Changes are evaluated before commitments move. Construction receives modules and the information needed to accept them. Each completed project improves the next project's process.
Requirements
- Evidence of delivering engineered equipment, manufactured products or capital-project packages with personal accountability for schedule and results.
- Ability to build and maintain a linked delivery schedule, including long-lead procurement, manufacturing, inspection, freight, customs and site readiness.
- Experience coordinating overseas manufacturing or vendor teams and holding cross-functional owners accountable without direct authority.
- Sound judgment on delivery trade-offs, scope changes and escalation, with clear boundaries between project decisions and engineering approval.
- Ability to create a dependable tracking system, reconcile conflicting data and turn a first-project process into something the next project can reuse.
- Effective daily use of AI for project work, with the ability to check outputs against source documents and explain where human review is required.
Candidates often bring five or more years of relevant experience. We assess the scope you have owned and the results you can explain. You should be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, seeking the facts that matter and following through across teams.
Bonus points
- Data center, electrical equipment or modular infrastructure delivery.
- Mandarin proficiency.
- Helping define or roll out an operations platform.
- PMP or equivalent project-management training.
How We Work
We value people who take ownership, raise risks early, communicate directly, and follow through. Incomplete information is part of the job. Make the best decision you can, document it, and adjust as the facts change. Move quickly on reversible decisions and take more care when security, safety, financial, employee, or customer risk is involved.
