Description
Manages the Westerville Home Repair Program including but not limited to partner and consultant management, answering questions from internal and external parties, accepting applications, evaluating applications, tracking progress, ensuring compliance with program specifications, performing field inspections, maintaining photographic and/or videographic evidence of program compliance, managing reporting requirements, providing presentations (Council, Boards, Commissions, community organizations, etc.), overseeing multiple program applications concurrently, overseeing multiple grant program lifecycles concurrently, maintaining direct lines of communication with program applicants, managing post-grant program requirements, reporting, record keeping, and related duties.
Manages the Westerville Helps Home Improvement Program including but not limited to answering questions from internal and external parties, accepting applications, evaluating applications, tracking progress, ensuring compliance with program specifications, performing field inspections, maintaining photographic and/or videographic evidence of program compliance, managing reporting requirements, providing presentations (Council, Boards, Commissions, community organizations, etc.), overseeing multiple program applications concurrently, overseeing multiple grant program lifecycles concurrently, maintaining direct lines of communication with program applicants, managing post-grant program requirements, reporting, record keeping, and related duties.
Manages the Westerville Social Work Intern Placement Program including but not limited to providing direct supervision to social work interns, in the capacity of a Task Instructor and/or Field Instructor, completion of required Task Instructor and/or Field Instructor training, ensuring compliance with the Learning Agreement, ensuring compliance with the Supervision Log, ensuring compliance with Site Visit requirements, attending bimonthly meetings with the social work interns and the university, management and coordination of social services provided to the community, serving as a mentor to social work interns, and related duties.
Connect residents experiencing unmet needs with appropriate resources including but not limited to community-based social services such as housing, food, transportation, education, health, life skills, and other resources.
Develop and maintain a resource directory listing federal, state, and/or local service providers and potential funding sources for community programs and projects including but not limited to government grants, foundation grants, and corporation grants.
Attend Council, Board, and Commission meetings, community meetings, community events, and other meetings or events during work hours or outside of work hours as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Calculator, computer, computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other applicable city-provided computer software programs), mobile phone, copier, scanner, telephone, postage machine, and other standard modern business office equipment, motor vehicle.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); works in an area in which the means of egress is or can be obstructed; is exposed to possible injury due to unclean or unsanitary conditions; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; has exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions; has exposure to hazardous driving conditions; this is considered primarily office/sedentary work and the employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the physical demands required of the position in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s physical demands strength ratings.
In case of emergency, unpredictable situations, and/or department needs, may be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects heavier than D.O.L. strength ratings recommend.
POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED:
Social Work Intern
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
Over two (2) years of relevant experience.
Obtaining Licensed Social Worker (LSW) within eighteen months of hire is preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and must remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum qualifications stated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (*Indicates developed after employment)
KNOWLEDGE OF: Federal and State safety laws, rules, and regulations and City safety policies/procedures*; assessment procedures, social work techniques, community resources, and area services.
SKILL IN: Advanced software to produce professional-looking reports, presentation, brochures, and other materials; critical thinking, judgement, and decision making; spreadsheet and/or database applications to manipulate data for complex analyses, reports, or presentations.
ABILITY TO: Hold sensitive matters in strict confidence and maintain confidential files and correspondence; provide training and support to internal staff on financial assistance and community service programs; perform assessments of individuals or families to determine unmet needs, care, and/or protection and make recommendations or referrals for city residents; organize and work independently in an environment of frequent interruptions; work in multidisciplinary teams which may include government officials and employees, other agencies, community residents, developers, and the general public.
