Our airport rental operation is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented team member to support the daily movement and preparation of our rental fleet. As a Fleet Operations Associate, you will help ensure vehicles are clean, properly positioned, inspected, and ready for their next rental.
This is an active position that combines vehicle care, driving, fleet organization, and general operational support. You will work alongside our rental and operations teams to maintain an efficient workflow and help deliver a positive customer experience.
Previous experience in car rental, automotive services, vehicle detailing, delivery driving, warehouse operations, or transportation is beneficial but not required for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Preparation and Inspections
- Prepare vehicles for rental by cleaning interiors, vacuuming, washing exteriors, and removing debris.
- Check fuel levels and replenish fuel when necessary.
- Inspect vehicles for visible damage, cleanliness concerns, and signs of maintenance needs.
- Perform basic fluid checks, including oil, coolant, and windshield washer fluid.
- Record vehicle condition issues and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance team.
- Verify that vehicles meet established cleanliness and readiness standards before returning them to the available fleet.
Daily Fleet Coordination
- Relocate and position cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans throughout the airport rental facility.
- Arrange vehicles to support rental demand, fleet availability, and efficient lot operations.
- Assist with vehicle counts, inventory reviews, and routine lot inspections.
- Keep vehicle staging areas and workspaces organized and free of unnecessary debris.
- Support busy periods by helping coordinate the movement of vehicles through the rental process.
- Clear snow, ice, and other obstructions from vehicles and designated work areas when needed.
Driving and Operational Assistance
- Transport vehicles between airport facilities, company branches, repair shops, and other assigned destinations.
- Support vehicle receiving, return processing, and fleet check-in activities.
- Keep team members informed about vehicle locations, availability, damage, and service requirements.
- Coordinate with rental counter personnel and fleet staff to help ensure vehicles are available when needed.
- Assist with other day-to-day operational duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment
This role involves regular physical activity and working around parked and moving vehicles. Essential job duties include:
- Standing and walking for much of the shift.
- Bending, reaching, and moving around vehicles during inspections and cleaning.
- Getting in and out of vehicles frequently throughout the day.
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Working outdoors in a range of seasonal weather conditions.
- Safely driving and repositioning vehicles in designated areas.

Requirements
Successful candidates should have the following:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Utah driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely, including cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans.
- Strong dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete routine checks, and communicate problems promptly.
- Comfortable balancing independent assignments with teamwork in a busy operation.
- Willingness to work outside in changing weather conditions, including hot summers, rain, cold temperatures, and snow.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
Experience with vehicle cleaning, fleet management, inventory control, automotive maintenance, or transportation is a plus.
