Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Desk in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utility location, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badges, and documenting access-related activity. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and help deter unauthorized access. Pay Rate: $18.30 - $19.30 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles entering or leaving the utility location.
• Issue, collect, and maintain records for visitor credentials, access cards, keys, and other controlled access items in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, buildings, operational areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
