About our Department:
The Fleet Management Division’s goal is to furnish City departments with properly equipped and well-maintained vehicles and equipment. The responsibilities of the division include the purchase, fueling, repair and maintenance of City-owned vehicles and equipment, including automated garbage trucks, emergency response vehicles and equipment used for construction and landscaping.
Fleet Services Technical Assistant Position Overview:
This is technical work involving the acquisition, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic equipment within the Fleet Division. Work involves research for bid proposals; setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting Personal Computers and other electronic equipment; downloads and installs software and provides training to program users; data entry of all Fleet work orders. Work is performed with some independence for initiative, judgment and action, and is reviewed for adherence to policies and procedures, accuracy and completeness and for results achieved.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency, supplemented by college level courses in computer science, management information systems, information technology, and experience with personal computers, hardware, and software applications. (Microsoft suites)
Valid Driver’s License
