Description
ERM is seeking a self-starting, dynamic Environmental Consultant to join our Impact Assessment team in Mexico City. In this role, you will provide high-quality analytical support on biodiversity, due diligence and sustainable finance projects for multi-national clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake assessments to evaluate the potential impacts on the terrestrial and marine environment from capital development projects.
- Work on a range of projects across the mining, oil and gas, renewables and infrastructure sector clients.
- Utilize your knowledge in Federal, State and Local Government environmental regulatory requirements specially in environmental impacts and biodiversity.
- Develop strong relationships and communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients and sub-contractors.
- Communicate effectively across different cultural and international backgrounds.
- Oversee subcontractors and fieldwork including flora and fauna sampling in terrestrial and marine projects.
- Development of technical reports and technical presentations in both Spanish and English.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Undergraduate degree in Environmental, Biologist, Forest, or related areas.
- Flexibility to handle multiple assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
- Technical competence in undertaking terrestrial and marine assessments to support environmental approvals.
- Critical thinker skills – i.e. able to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes.
- Demonstrated report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills – GIS skills desirable.
- Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas.
- Travel may be required, Passport and drivers´license are required- US Visa desirable.
- Specialist in a relevant field (forest background, environmental science, environmental management)-Desirable.
