Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer/Analyst for a remote position
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead grid modernization and transmission expansion initiatives. In this primarily remote role, you will exercise significant independent judgment to drive program objectives, collaborate closely with client teams, and bridge the gap between complex engineering data and executive strategy.

Core Responsibilities

Grid & Capacity Planning: Conduct load flow, stability, short-circuit, and voltage analyses to ensure long-term transmission reliability. Develop forecasting models to evaluate the integration of renewable energy, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and high-demand loads such as large data centers.

Compliance & Interconnection: Navigate ISO/RTO interconnection processes and maintain strict NERC and FERC compliance. Perform contingency analyses ($N-1$, $N-1-1$) and design practical mitigation strategies, including reconductoring and Remedial Action Schemes (RAS).

Strategic Advisory & Leadership: Represent the organization in regional planning forums and author comprehensive technical reports. Translate complex load flow results, thermal limits, and stability risks into clear business impacts, timelines, and financial options for non-technical executives and investors.
Qualifications

Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, alongside 7+ years of power systems engineering experience within a major utility, ISO/RTO, or specialized consultancy. Electric utility capacity planning and operations experience is heavily favored.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP-G (or equivalent Energy Management Systems), PLS-CADD, and GIS. Scripting proficiency in Python or MATLAB is required to automate large-scale modeling and analysis.

Execution & Communication: Exceptional organizational and communication skills tailored for a remote, diverse team environment. Proven ability to interpret construction documents, engineering drawings, specifications, and RFPs. A valid driver’s license is required.
