Job Summary:
THE ROLE
The VP of Business Development & Innovation is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for driving technology vision, innovation, and execution across our platforms, live music, production, and entertainment operations. This role partners closely with Tech, Product, Production, Creative, Operations, Marketing, Ticketing, and Finance to design, implement, and scale technology solutions that enhance live experiences, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth across tours, festivals, and live events.
This is a highly cross-functional role ideal for a technology leader who thrives in fast-moving environments, understands the realities of live production, and can balance innovation with reliability in mission-critical, real-time settings. This is a fully in office position and travel to various office and event locations. This position reports to senior leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Strategy & Leadership
Develop and own the company’s technology and innovation roadmap aligned with business, operational and creative goals
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on enterprise technology, digital transformation, automation and scalability
Translate business and operational needs into practical, scalable technology solutions that support fast-paced creative teams
Build strong partnerships across tech, operations, marketing, finance, HR, legal and executive leadership
Enterprise Technology & Business Systems
Oversee internal and enterprise technology platforms to support the organization
Ensure systems are reliable, secure, compliant and scalable
Lead system integrations and improvements to reduce manual work and increase efficiency
Innovation & Emerging Technology
Identify, evaluate and implement emerging technologies (ex: AI, automation, data analytics) to improve business performance
Lead proof of concept initiatives and pilots, balancing innovation with ROI and operational impact
Partner with functional leaders to identify opportunities for technology-enabled improvements
Stay current on trends in enterprise technology, AI, and digital tools relevant to creative and entertainment organizations
Data, Reporting & Enablement
Improve data visibility, reporting and insights across teams to support decision making
Partner cross-functionally on forecasting, planning and technology investments
Establish data governance and best practices for usage, access and security
Team & Vendor Management
Build, lead and mentor internal technology resources and external partners
Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and performance
Establish best practices for documentation, security, risk management and change control
Provide clear guidance, tools and support to internal teams using enterprise systems
Other special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, innovation or enterprise system management
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Experience working in live music, software, entertainment, or similar creative environments
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong understanding of business operations and enterprise technology ecosystems
Experience managing vendors, budgets and complex technology initiatives
Experience implementing or optimizing various systems
Familiarity with AI, automation, and data-driven decision making tools
Experience partnering with creative teams while maintaining operational discipline
Background in scaling technology for growing or evolving organizations
Strategic thinking with a hands on, execution focused mindset
Strong communicator able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Highly organized with excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving change
Passion for live music, entertainment and enabling great work through smart technology
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing to travel to work during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and drastic temperature climates while working on site at various event location
Must be able to work in open concept office space

Salary: $140,000.00 USD
