Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

With the mentoring of experienced Project and/or Development Software Engineers, the Project Software Engineer will:

  • Simulate an overall Power Electronics system for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applications.

  • Specify the Controller Hardware for VFD control upgrades and new development VFDs

  • Customize the Drive/Converter Software and HMI, validate, and test on a test bench or on a HIL Real Time platform.

  • Write project artifacts such as Software design and commissioning instructions.

  • Lead the Drive System Commissioning/Projects.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2Years’ experience in power electronics, power conversion, and/or controls engineering.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% to support and resolve site-related issues as needed.

Desired Characteristics

  • Autonomous, curious with the ability to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a team

  • Background in controls engineering preferred.

  • Major Courses on Power Electronics Converters (MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives or Cycloconverter), Variable Speed application (three phase/multiphase induction/synchronous motors), STATCOM, or active filtering

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
