Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Educator to join our healthcare team. This role is pivotal in developing and providing services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of central sterile staff. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive technical education program and sterile processing course for all staff and preceptors.
Design, manage, deliver, and assess learning activities and curriculums related to:
Clinical competencies
Departmental/organizational policies
Regulatory requirements
Clinical information technologies
Lead the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures in collaboration with department leadership.
Coordinate and facilitate new staff orientation activities.
Qualifications:
Certification Requirements:
- Certification as CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) through HSPA or Certification as a CSPDT (certified sterile processing and distribution technician) through CBSPD required.
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - HSPA or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) - CBSPD required.
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) - HSPA or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) - CBSPD required within 6 months of hire.
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) - HSPA or Certified in Sterile Processing Management - CBSPD preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in sterile processing education and training.
Strong understanding of clinical competencies, departmental policies, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with department leadership to develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
Commitment to continuous improvement and staff development.
