The Assistant Manager – Quantity Surveying is responsible for preparing tender documents, evaluating tenders and making recommendations and prepare report for internal approval. Post contract works comprising of handling variation orders and final account.Role Summary
The Assistant Manager, Group Contract supports the review of tender, contract, claim, variation, payment and final-account submissions. The role performs detailed document and cost checks, prepares analysis and review summaries, coordinates clarifications and ensures information is complete for Manager or Senior Manager assessment.
Key Outcomes
- Produces accurate and complete review analysis for assigned submissions.
- Identifies missing, inconsistent or unsupported contractual and cost information.
- Maintains timely and organised review records and trackers.
- Supports compliance with Group Contract policies, templates and documentation standards.
- Provides reliable information for management review and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Tender and Contract Support
- Review the completeness of tender documents, pricing schedules, scopes and supporting information.
- Compile tender clarifications and evaluation information.
- Check Letters of Award and contract documentation against approved requirements.
- Prepare review summaries for Manager assessment.
Claims and Variation Support
- Review supporting documents for claims, variations, EOTs and payment matters.
- Perform preliminary checks on contractual references, measurements and cost information.
- Compile outstanding items and clarification requirements.
- Support preparation of recommendation papers and review reports.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain review files, trackers, registers and supporting records.
- Check that submissions use approved templates and contain the required supporting documents and approvals.
- Support audit and compliance reviews.
- Follow up on outstanding documents and stakeholder actions.
Reporting and Coordination
- Prepare contract-status, claim, variation and final-account review summaries.
- Coordinate with BU Contract Administration, consultants and internal teams to obtain information.
- Highlight material discrepancies or risks to the Manager.
- Ensure assigned reviews are completed within the required timelines.
Team Support
- Support Executives in document compilation and data preparation.
- Check routine work for accuracy and completeness where assigned.
- Participate in technical sharing and process-improvement activities.
- Maintain updated knowledge of Group Contract procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Contract Administration or Quantity Surveying.
- Hands-on exposure to pre- and post-contract activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Min 5 years of QS experience (preferable for QS consulting firm)
Experience in construction, building, or civil projects.
Familiar with the standard form, i.e PAM, IEM, etc
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of measurement, cost control, and standard forms of contract
Proficiency in QS software (e.g., Niuace, AutoCAD for measurement)
Strong Excel and report-writing skills
