Responsibilities
- Assists the patients through the process from initial consultation to the completion of the surgery.
- Schedules patients for medical procedures/surgeries.
- Provides patients with pre-op counseling.
- Acts as the main point of contact with our Ambulatory Surgery Center and send chart information in a timely manner.
- Calls surgery center to inform of add on patients and cancellations.
- Verifies all insurances and obtain authorization prior to surgery date.
- Follow up as needed to ensure medical clearances are obtained by patient prior to surgery.
- Ensures all patient questions are answered, and phone calls are returned.
- Reviews medication regimen, consents, and surgery instructions according to NVISION protocols and forms.
- Provides a warm and engaging atmosphere to instill confidence in our patients and create an exceptional experience.
- Assist with clinic functions and in office procedures.
- Functions as a team with the rest of the office and assist with scheduling, front desk, and other admin functions
Qualifications
2+ years experience as a scheduler in a medical setting (Oculoplastics preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent
