Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Scheduler to join our OBGYN team at MaineGeneral Health. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare experience, particularly in medical office settings, and a keen understanding of medical terminology. This role requires someone who is highly detail-oriented and capable of managing patient information with precision. The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments and ensuring accurate registration details, including demographics and insurance information. Job Description:

The Work:
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately using specialized scheduling software tailored to the OBGYN department's needs.

  • Work closely with medical and clinical staff to confirm availability of providers and facilities, ensuring that all scheduling is optimized for patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear pre-procedure instructions and confirming appointment details.

  • Intake and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and necessary pre-authorizations to ensure a smooth registration process.

  • Maintain detailed and organized records to support the efficient operation of the OBGYN department.

You Have:

  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting, such as a medical office or healthcare access center is preferred.

  • A strong focus on detail and the ability to manage detailed information accurately, including patient demographics and insurance verification.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor, effective communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Proficiency in electronic scheduling systems and an understanding of healthcare insurance processes, particularly in a specialized setting like OBGYN.

  • A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and attention to detail in all scheduling and information management tasks.
